Anthony Hoeksema
was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to the United States in 1923. He attended Calvin College (A.B.), the University of Michigan (M.A.), Calvin Theological seminary (Th.B.) and Princeton Theological seminary (Th.D., 1953). After serving as minister of several Christian Reformed Churches (1944-56) he became Associate Professor Bible at Calvin College (1956-58). From 1958 to 1979, when he retired, he was Professor of Systematic Theology at Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Professor Hoekema spent two sabbatical years in Cambridge, England (1965-66, 1973-74) and has written The Four Major Cults (1963), What about Tongue-Speaking? (1966), Holy Spirit Baptism (1972), The Bible and the Future (1979) and was a contributor to The Meaning of the Millennium from which these are articles were taken (1977).

Cornelis P. Venema is Professor of Doctrinal Studies at Mid-America Reformed Seminary.
His special interest lies in
Reformation theology, particularly the work of the Reformers John Calvin and
Heinrich Bullinger. Dr. Venema's most recent book, Heinrich Bullinger and the
Doctrine of Predestination: Author of "The Other Reformed Tradition"?,
reflects this interest. He is the author of several other books including But
for the Grace of God: An Exposition of the Canons of Dort; What We
Believe: An Exposition of the Apostles' Creed; and The Promise of the
Future. Dr. Venema is a co-editor and frequent contributor to The
Outlook and the Mid-America Journal of Theology.

Everett Carver,
holds three academic degrees including a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts from the University of Houston. He was ordained to the ministry in 1936 and has held pastorates in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. From 1955 until his retirement in 1974, he was employed by Gulf-Coast Bible College. There he served as Director of Counseling and Testing, as well as instructor in Bible, theology, and psychology. He retired with the title of Professor Emeritus.

John Gerstner (1914-1996) was a Professor of Church History at Pittsburgh Theological
Seminary. He earned both a Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Theology degree
from Westminster Theological Seminary. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree from
Harvard University in 1945. Dr. Gerstner was known as an authority on the theology and
life of Jonathan Edwards.

John Wilmot
ministered in the pastoral office in three churches in the United Kingdom, his last pastorate of thirty-five years being concluded in 1959 at Highgate Road Baptist Chapel, London. On a number of occasions, responding to the invitations of the late Dr. T.T. shields and his successor, the late Dr. H.C. Slade, he served as special lecturer at the Toronto Baptist Seminary, preaching also at Jarvis Street Baptist Church. In 1948 the President and Senate of the Seminary conferred upon him the degree of doctor of divinity.

Jon Zens, was born in 1945 and grew up in California. He studied
art at Valley State College, in Northridge. After his conversion in 1965, he
transferred to Bob Jones University to study the Bible. In the summer of 1967 he
became convinced of the “Doctrines of Grace,” commonly called “Calvinism.” He
then transferred to Covenant College where he graduated with a B.A. degree. In
1972 he graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary with an M.Div. He then
took a call to become the pastor of the Nashville Reformed Baptist Church in
Tennessee.

William Hendriksen was a very well known Bible commentator who's writings have grown in popularity over the years. He held degrees from Calvin College (A.B.), Calvin Seminary (Th.B. and Th.M.), and Princeton Theological Seminary (Th.D.). He served as pastor of several large congregations of the Christian Reformed Church in Zeeland, Muskegon and Grand Rapids, Michigan from 1927 to 1942. He also held the position of Professor of New Testament Exegetical Theology at Calvin Seminary. He authored many books, among them were The Covenant of Grace, The Bible on the Life Hereafter, The Sermon on the Mount, More than Conquerors, Bible Survey, and the most popular, The New Testament Commentary series.
