Reformed Perspectives Magazine, Volume 9, Number 43, October 21 to October 27, 2007 |
I am round,
I don't make a sound.
I am a very, very, very small hole,
yet, I am as old as you are.
Where do I reside?
Where do I abide?
Somewhere on your body…
Have you forgotten about me?
Won't you stop by?
Just to say hi?
Oh well,
"out of sight out of mind",
as the saying goes.
Where do I reside?
Where do I abide?
Somewhere on your face,
can you guess my hiding place?
I've always been with you,
during every crisis,
when you rejoice,
when you mourn,
through success and rejection,
It has always been me,
I give saltine expression
to your emotions.
When is the last time,
the last time you've thought,
thought about me?
From God's hand,
all things came forth true,
but since "The Fall",
not so straight, not so tall.
And so, some have been born without me,
they've never felt my liquid dew,
this gift of God they never new…
Have you forgotten about me?
Won't you stop by?
Just to say hi?
Where do I reside?
Where do I abide?
Look in the mirror,
Put your finger under your eyelash and pull down.
Do you see me?
Lifetime streams of liquid dew,
a gift from God, through me to you.
What Am I?
