Morton Smith

Morton H. Smith is Professor of Systematic Theology at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in South Carolina. His educational credits include: University of North Carolina; B.A. University of Michigan, 1947; Westminster Theological Seminary; B.D. Columbia Theological Seminary, 1953; Th.D. Free Reformed University of Amsterdam, 1962; Graduate Studies in Near Eastern Studies, University of Michigan; Graduate Studies, Westminster Theological Seminary. He was pastor of Springfield and Roller Presbyterian Churches, Carroll County, MD, 1954; Professor of Bible and Chairman of the Bible Department, Belhaven College, Jackson, MS, 1954-1963; Guest Lecturer in Practical Theology, Westminster Theological Seminary, 1963-64; Professor of Theology, Reformed Theological Institute, French Camp, MS, 1964-66; Professor of Systematic Theology, and Chairman of the Department, Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, MS, 1966-1979; Guest Lecturer in Systematic Theology, English Bible and Apologetics, Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis, MO, 1984-1986; Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America, 1973-88; and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America, 2000. He has been Professor of Systematic & Biblical Theology at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary since 1998.
